Box For Monkeys kids activities

MAKE: Fridge Letter Game

June 23, 2016MakeBox For Monkeys

We are always looking for kids activities that little monkeys can get on with giving mum a bit of time to get things done around the house (and with a newborn bub, this is even more important!) This Fridge Letter Game takes a bit of time to set up but once it’s done it will provide endless entertainment – and a chance to learn as well!

Time needed: 20 minutes

Materials:
Paddle pop sticks (or cardboard will work)
Alphabet magnets
Glue gun (or double-sided tape)
Magnets (we used a collection of promotional magnets we get in the letterbox!)
Scissors
Permanent marker

Method:

1. Cut the magnets into strips so that the pieces can be glued to two paddle pop sticks, one on top of the other. We used promotional magnets we always get in the letterbox but you can use any suitable magnets. You can also use cardboard if you don’t have paddle pop sticks.
2. Glue the magnets to the sticks. It is very important that the hot glue gun be used under adult supervision. You can also stick on the magnets using double sided tape if you don’t have a hot glue gun.
3. Let your monkeys choose which words they would like you to write on the magnets.
4. Put the magnets on the fridge and let your monkeys match the letters with alphabet magnets to make the words!

All of our monthly boxes include a craft activity to MAKE! SHOP or SUBSCRIBE now.
