As always, we had such fun putting together our June ‘Pirates’ box. It’s no secret every little monkey loooooves Pirates, from the danger and mystery to the “aarrrhing”! This box proved to be our most popular so far with a record number of subscribers!
Each month we feature a different unisex theme aimed at ages 3-7. The Pirates box included:
Pirate Ship Sticker Kit (Peaceable Kingdom): Get ready for some swashbuckling fun with this pirate ship adventure! Pop out and assemble the ship, set up the crew, decorate the pieces with stickers and set sail. This activity includes 4 pop out ship parts, 4 pirate stands and 43 colourful stickers. Perfect to do on a rainy, winter’s day.
Jumbo Pirates Puzzle (Mudpuppy): There’s much fun to be had on the open sea! The 25 oversized and durable puzzle pieces fit together to form an exciting image of pirate adventure. Perfect for developing little monkeys’ hand-eye coordination – even with an eye patch and a hook!
What Pirates Really Do by Melanie Joyce and Alex Paterson: A hilarious rhyming picture book about what pirates really spend their time doing! Pirates are known for sailing the high seas, having swashbuckling adventures, and fighting sea monsters… But is that really all they do with their time? In this fantastically funny picture book, we get to see what pirates really do, like having tea parties, knitting sweaters, relaxing in pajamas and fluffy slippers, and snuggling up for bed!
First Dot-to-Dot Pirates (Usborne): Little monkeys will love joining the dots to uncover the hidden pirate scenes in this swashbuckling activity book, including two pages of stickers to add to the finished pictures. The option to colour in the revealed object (including Polly the pirate, a desert island and a treasure chest) will make this double the fun! A great way to practise counting, as well as pen control and colour recognition.
100 Pirate Things To Do (Parragon): Ahoy there! Sail the seven seas in this giant book packed with 100 things to do. Create fearsome posters and sticker scenes, solve swashbuckling puzzles, doodle your very own pirate ship, and much more! Includes a Yo-ho-ho card game. Oh, and it has over 350 stickers and stencils!
Pirate Island Coconut Cupcakes: this month’s recipe will teach monkeys how to mix, measure, crack eggs and ice the cupcakes.
Mrs Pirate: A fun song to sing!
